Problem reported

The customer had a difficult sewer and wastewater blockage on a new build. Wastewater was not running properly through the pipework, and the customer needed help understanding who had to be involved.

Cause found

Concrete had entered or hardened inside the sewer and wastewater line, creating a major obstruction. The issue required diagnosis and coordination with Sydney Water for the larger sewer repair.

Work completed

Attended the property, inspected and exposed the affected pipework, used drain equipment to check flow, helped identify concrete as the cause, contacted and coordinated with Sydney Water, arranged workers and excavator support, made repeat visits to check that the pipework was still running while the authority-side repair was being organised, and helped install or prepare replacement PVC pipework and fittings around the access area.

Equipment used

  • Excavator
  • hand excavation tools
  • CCTV drain camera or inspection gear
  • jetting or cable equipment
  • PVC pipe and fittings
  • gravel bedding
  • shovel
  • drill and hand tools
  • temporary barrier tape

Outcome

The concrete-related sewer and wastewater blockage was escalated correctly, the affected area was opened and managed, temporary flow checks were carried out while waiting for the major repair, and the customer had Scott coordinating the process with Sydney Water and site workers.

Customer review5-star review

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for this business with Scott and his team who come highly recommended on my part. Scott was an absolute pleasure to deal with and gave me assistance along the way for what was a painful experience regarding my sewer and waste water blockage due to concrete on a new build. He went out of his way to undertake the contact with Sydney Water knowing I was illiterate in the plumbing space, kept me updated and made trips out of his way to the house during this to ensure that everything was running through the pipe work whilst Sydney Water made their way for a major sewer repair. He aligned the workers, excavators and was a gentlemen in his approach and truly empathetic of the situation I was going through. I highly recommend Scott and his team.

  • This is a review-backed example of a difficult new-build blockage where coordination mattered as much as the pipework.
  • Sydney Water attended for the major authority-side sewer repair once the issue was escalated and coordinated.
