The owner
I'm Scott Johnstone, and I run Blocked Drains Sydney. Over more than 30 years in the trade I've worked on just about every kind of blocked drain Sydney throws up — kitchen and bathroom lines, blocked toilets, sewer mains, and stormwater that floods after heavy rain — across homes, strata, shops, and commercial sites.
The way I work is simple: listen to what the drain is doing, check the safest access and choose the right way to clear it for that pipe. If the blockage keeps coming back or repair may be needed, a CCTV camera can show what is happening inside the line.
How I work
When a drain keeps blocking, I look for the cause instead of treating every visit as another quick clear. Where the camera can travel, CCTV helps show what is happening and what the next step should address.
Prove it — on camera
A drain camera can show roots, build-up or damage inside an accessible pipe and help pinpoint where the problem is.
The camera enters through an accessible opening to show the condition inside the pipe.
Roots and trapped debris become visible on screen, helping explain a repeat blockage.
A closer view shows where roots are entering and whether clearing or repair should be considered.
Drain equipment
The equipment depends on the drain, the blockage and safe access. Scott explains what is needed before the work goes further.

Blocked Drains Sydney services all of Sydney, including the Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Sutherland Shire, Hills District, and Western Sydney.
CCTV is most useful when the cause is unclear, the drain keeps blocking or repair is being considered. The line may need clearing first so the camera can travel and show the pipe wall.
