Start with what the drain is doing. Scott checks the access, clears the right pipe and explains what the result means.
For an active overflow, call. Otherwise send your suburb, which drains are backing up and whether the problem has happened before.
Scott checks the fixtures, pipework, pits or gullies involved and finds the safest useful access point.
The clearing equipment is matched to the pipe, the blockage and the access available.
Scott checks the result and explains whether CCTV, maintenance or repair is worth considering.

View all FAQsYes. Call 0472 753 487 at any time if a drain, toilet, sewer or stormwater line is overflowing or backing up. Current attendance timing depends on the location, access, traffic and immediate risk.
Call 0472 753 487 for current availability. Timing depends on location, traffic, access, and whether there is active overflow or wastewater risk.
Stop using the fixtures that make the water rise, keep people and pets away from wastewater, and call. Tell Scott which drains are backing up and whether there is safe access to a gully, pit or inspection point.
CCTV is most useful when the cause is unclear, the drain keeps blocking or repair is being considered. The line may need clearing first so the camera can travel and show the pipe wall.
Access, the type of blockage, the pipe, line length, active overflow and the equipment needed can all change what the job includes and costs.
Who arranges the work depends on where the blockage is. Private drains are generally managed by the property owner, shared pipework may involve strata, and Sydney Water or council handles problems in the public assets it manages.
